Newport County’s dreams of an FA cup final are well and truly alive, after beating Leeds United in the third round, the prize is an FA Cup fourth round draw against Tottenham Hotspur, whilst championship neighbours Cardiff City will host Manchester City if they win their third round replay with Mansfield

The north London premiere league side travel to south wales to face the exiles in the next round, having disposed of AFC Wimbledon at Wembley last weekend.

County Manager Michael Flynn told the bbc, ” The FA Cup could be transformative for the League Two side, with a dream drawproviding the funds to build a new training ground.”

“I hope we get a bit of luck now in the draw, whatever makes the club the most money,” Flynn tells BBC Sport Wales.

“It’s huge for the city, it is huge, we have had a lot of tough times, but hopefully we are heading in the right direction.

Flynn, a former Newport player and coach, has been the central driving force for improvement at his hometown club after a disappointing spell by previous manager Warren beaney  and says the city of Newport is proof that the FA Cup has lost none of its lustre.
